Child thrown from father’s motorcycle to road, killed by covered van
A child died after being run over by a covered van after being thrown from his father’s motorcycle on a broken road in Comilla’s Devidwar. The incident took place in front of Baniapara Ajgar Ali Girls’ High School of Devidwar Municipality on the Comilla-Sylhet Regional Highway around 10 am today.
The deceased Khalid Hossain (8) is the son of Moazzem Hossain of Gopalnagar village of Rasulpur union of Debidwar upazila.

According to local and police sources, the child Khalid was returning home on a motorcycle with his father from Babus Salam Hafiziya Madrasa in Devidwar municipality in the morning. On the way, he fell from his father’s motorcycle on the broken part of the road in Baniapara area. He was killed on the spot when a covered van coming from behind hit him. Later the relatives recovered the child’s body and took it away.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Devidwar police station Mohammad Moniruzzaman confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information. Efforts are on to identify the buried covered van. Necessary legal action will be taken in this case.
