Teen caught by fake tantric to get love of parents, youth arrested with 27 gold ornaments

A teenage girl falls into the trap of a fake tantric because of her desire to get the love of her parents. The members of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) of Jamalpur have arrested a fake tantric on the charge of taking money and a large amount of gold ornaments by using that opportunity. The incident created a sensation in the area.
The arrested person’s name is Monir Hossain (21). Police say he is an active member of a tantric fraud ring. House in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Char Jatarthpur Chandapara area of Lakshmirchar Union. He is known as the content creator of a Facebook page called ‘Made in Jamalpur’. The victim of fraud is a class VIII student of a school in Sherpur district. His father is a cloth merchant by profession.
This information was given in a press conference organized at PBI office in Bagerhata area of Jamalpur city on Thursday afternoon. According to PBI, the girl is the eldest of three siblings. Lately he felt like his parents loved him less and loved his younger siblings more. From this he became mentally broken and started looking for solutions on social media. Later, the person’s associates used multiple EMU accounts named ‘Kabiraj’ and ‘Allahhar Daan’ to regularly communicate with him and assure him of solving the problem.
It was informed in the press conference that after the incident, 2 lakh 43 thousand 150 rupees were collected from the girl through a step-by-step process from March 6 to 9, on the pretext of buying kabiraj fee, khasi, prayer prayers, agarbatis, candles, milk and fruits. Later, the gang snatched about 27 and a half pieces of gold ornaments and one lakh rupees from him as a trick to get more money. Later, when the girl demanded money again, when the girl went to send the money to Vikas, the shopkeeper suspected her age and informed her father about it. In this the whole fraud case comes to light. Later the girl’s father filed a case at Sherpur police station.
Additional IGP of PBI headquarters said the case. When Mustafa came to Kamal’s notice, Jamalpur’s PBI started an investigation on his orders. With the help of information technology, two gang members Mucha Mia (29) and Rafiqul Islam (28) were first arrested in a raid in Mauna area of Sripur Upazila of Gazipur on April 9. Later, based on the information given by them, the main owner, Monir Hossain, was arrested by raiding the new market area of Mymensingh city. Later, 25 bhari 9 annas 4 rati gold ornaments buried under the ground in the garden next to the house were recovered at the place indicated by him. At this time, a total of five mobile phones including an iPhone 17 Pro Max have been seized. The estimated value of recovered goods is Tk 64 lakh.
PBI Jamalpur Superintendent of Police Pankaj Dutta said multiple teams have worked to solve the mystery of the case. Their combined efforts made it possible to arrest the involved persons including the principal and recover the gold ornaments taken by fraud. The process of sending the arrested persons to court is underway.
