Due to the increase in the price of fuel, after the bus, the fare of the launch has also been increased. The launch fare has been increased by 18 paise per person per kilometer for the first distance of less than 100 km and 14 paise per person for the distance of more than 100 km. As a result, the launch fare increased by 6.49 percent in short distance and 5.88 percent in long distance.

The Ministry of Shipping announced the increase in launch fares in a notification on Wednesday. Apart from increasing the fare per kilometer, the minimum passenger fare has also been mentioned in this notification of the ministry. It said, the revised fare will be effective from Tuesday (yesterday).

Until now, the fare per person for the first 100 km distance was 2 taka 77 paisa, for more than that the fare was 2 taka 38 paisa per person per km. As per the new decision, from now on the launch fare for the first 100 km distance will be Rs 2 95 paise per person per km and for more distance the fare will be Rs 2 52 paise per person per km.

Before this, the ruling BNP government issued a notification on the night of April 18, increasing the price of fuel oil. In this new decision, diesel price has increased by 15 taka to 115 taka, kerosene has increased by 18 taka to 130 taka, octane has increased by 20 taka to 140 taka and petrol has increased by 19 taka to 135 taka. Then on April 23, the Ministry of Roads, Railways and Shipping announced an increase in bus fares. Bus fares in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolitan areas and inter-districts have been increased by 11 paise per kilometer. Then today the launch fare increase was announced.
