Two killed in Netrokona motorcycle accident

Two young men were killed and a third remains in critical condition following a motorcycle accident in the Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona late Friday night. The fatal crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the Gajarmari Bridge on the Kalmakanda-Durgapur road.
The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Nibir Mia and 21-year-old Sohan Mia, both residents of the Ghoshpara area in Kalmakanda. The injured survivor, 19-year-old Billal Hossain, was transported to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
According to local accounts and family members, the three friends had traveled by motorcycle to Rahimpur Bazar around midnight for tea. While returning home at approximately 1:00 a.m., they became separated from others in their group. When the rest of the party realized the trio had fallen behind, they backtracked to search for them, eventually discovering the crashed motorcycle and the three victims in a ditch near the bridge.
Local residents assisted in rushing the trio to the Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex. Physicians there declared Nibir and Sohan dead upon arrival. Billal, who sustained severe injuries, received emergency stabilization before being transferred to the medical college hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Kalmakanda Police Station, Md. Abul Hashem, confirmed the incident. Following the completion of necessary legal procedures, authorities released the bodies to the victims’ families without post-mortem examinations, per their request.
