Bus crash in Anwara leaves two dead and 20 injured

Two women were killed and at least 20 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus carrying factory workers lost control and collided with multiple vehicles in Chattogram’s Anwara upazila on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the tunnel intersection in the Chatri Choumuhani Bazar area. According to local reports, the bus, which was transporting employees from the Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), struck three CNG-powered auto-rickshaws and one battery-operated rickshaw.
Witnesses and local rescuers rushed the victims to the Anwara Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel pronounced the two women dead upon arrival. Their identities have not yet been established. Several other passengers who suffered severe injuries were subsequently transferred to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Anwara Police Station inspector (investigation) Md. Majnu Mia confirmed the incident, stating that authorities are monitoring the situation as the injured continue to receive medical care at the respective facilities. Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the bus driver losing control of the vehicle.
