The official, who did not wish to be named, insisted that no fruitful talks are possible while the attacks continue. The Lebanese government believes that in order to create a favorable environment for negotiations, it is necessary to stop the military activities first.

As a result, there has been renewed uncertainty and speculation about the future of these possible negotiations to be mediated by the international community.
