‘Fuel Management’ app launched in Rajshahi, fuel oil will be provided in rationing system

To reduce customer harassment and prevent illegal stockpiling of fuel oil, the fuel supply program has been started in Rajshahi through a mobile app called ‘Fuel Management’. Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam inaugurated this program at Gul Ghafoor filling station in Kumarpara of the city on Sunday morning.

According to district administration sources, fuel oil will be sold on rationing system in this new system. A motorcyclist can buy petrol or diesel for a maximum of Tk 500 once in five days and a microbus or private car driver can buy petrol or diesel for a maximum of Tk 2,000.

The in-charge personnel of the filling station will directly dispense the fuel by scanning the vehicle registration number through the app. Customers will not need to register separately to avail this service. The administration also said that diesel will be supplied to farmers through prescribed cards for use in agriculture.

In the opening ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said that this app has been launched so that customers do not have to stand in long queues to get fuel at the petrol pump and no one can illegally stockpile oil. He said, ‘After taking oil once from any petrol pump, no customer can take oil again before the next five days have passed. If someone comes to take oil before the scheduled time, it can be identified through the app.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sabur Ali, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Borhan Uddin and other administration officials were present on the occasion.
