Special instructions for traffic in Bangabhaban area on Friday afternoon around the swearing-in of the President

The swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be held at Bangabhaban at 7:30 pm on Friday. For this reason, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has requested to follow some guidelines for vehicle movement in the area around Bangabhaban from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday. However, these instructions will not apply to the invited guests coming to Bangabhaban.

Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Motijheel Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday. A circular signed by Amir Khosroor informed this information. According to the instructions, all types of vehicles will be prohibited from Alico Gap in Motijheel Shapla Chattar to Dilkusha Commercial Area (Bangabhavan Road) and Rajuk Crossing (DIT Road). All Rajuk-Gulistan bound buses from Shapla Chatwar and Dainik Bangla have been asked to ply via Dainik Bangla-UBL-Press Club.

Apart from this, these buses can also ply on any other convenient alternative roads. No commercial vehicles will ply from Dainik Bangla towards Rajuk.

Vehicles coming from Hanif flyover have been asked to move towards Dainik Bangla-Shapla Chatwar via UBL crossing on left or UBL crossing on left instead of U-turn from zero point. Alternatively, these vehicles can also ply through Zero Point-UBL Crossing-Nightingale Crossing-Fakirapool Crossing-Shapla Chatwar-Ittefaq.

Motorists are requested to avoid the said roads and use any other convenient alternative roads.

Due to special traffic management, traffic will be temporarily disrupted in the mentioned roads and areas, said DMP. Expressing sincere regret for this, they wished for everyone’s cooperation.

Outgoing president, prime minister, speaker, chief justice, former presidents, cabinet members, diplomats of various countries assigned to Bangladesh, high-ranking government officials and distinguished persons will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected president.
