Tragic Accident in Jhenaidah: Hawker Crushed to Death Between Two Competing Buses

JHENAIDAH — In a tragic incident at the main bus stand of Kaliganj upazila, a local hawker named Usman Ali was crushed to death after getting trapped between two moving buses on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred around 3:30 PM, sparking immediate grief and concern among commuters and local traders.
Trapped in a Deadly Squeeze
According to eyewitnesses, Usman Ali made his living by ferrying and selling various products to passengers inside buses at the busy municipal terminal.

The tragedy unfolded as Usman was walking alongside a stationary bus belonging to ‘Shapla Paribahan’. Suddenly, a second passenger bus arrived from behind, attempting to maneuver or take a turn tightly past the parked vehicle.
Usman was caught in the narrow gap between the two large vehicles. Eyewitnesses recounted hearing him scream out in terror as the vehicles continued to move forward, closing the space completely. He was heavily crushed between the sides of the two buses and died on the spot before any bystander could intervene.
Medical and Official Confirmation
Usman was rushed to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex, but medical staff could only confirm his passing.
