‘Picture avi baaki hai’ – Iranian envoy’s reply to Trump with Shahrukh’s dialogue

Bollywood’s silver screen dialogue has now taken place in the field of international politics. Beyond the cinema hall, the chemistry of diplomatic relations between India and Iran was added to the famous dialogue of megastar Shahrukh Khan – ‘Picture avi baaki hai’ (the movie is not over yet).
Iran’s consulate in Mumbai has adopted this dramatic approach while responding to a comment by US President Donald Trump recently.
A few days ago Donald Trump made a post about Iran on his own social media platform ‘Truth Social’. There he claimed that Iran’s naval power has become much weaker than before. In response to Trump’s comments, the Iranian consulate started a counter-campaign.
Recently the Iranian Consulate shared a video on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The video shows Iranian Navy high-speed boats training and launching missiles with precision in the Persian Gulf.
In the caption of the video, they criticized Trump’s claims without directly mentioning him by name. According to the consulate, recent events prove how modern armed forces and tactical forces can quickly and effectively create pressure.
The message accompanying the video reads – ‘Picture avi baaki hai’. Through this, Iran wants to understand that the situation is not as weak as Trump thinks Iran is; Rather, the real fight or ‘climax’ is still ahead.
Bollywood’s use of such pop-cultural references on serious topics like international politics quickly went viral on social media. Netizens see it as a ‘new form of diplomacy’. Many have commented that this strategy of using Indian culture to convey Iran’s own message is quite ingenious.
