Actress Dia Mirza recently recalled a prescient remark made by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan during the filming of their 2002 movie, “Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.” Speaking on a show hosted by choreographer and director Farah Khan, Mirza shared that while working on her debut project at age 19, Khan jokingly predicted that she would eventually be cast to play his mother on screen.

The actress recounted an interaction on set while she and co-star Rajpal Yadav were waiting for a shot. Noting that the actress playing Khan’s mother at the time had recently given birth, a young Mirza remarked on the casting choice, to which Khan replied that a similar professional evolution awaited her. During the recent discussion, Mirza laughed off the decades-old prediction, suggesting that the superstar now prefers to work with much younger actresses.

Farah Khan challenged that notion, noting that Salman Khan has worked with contemporaries such as Chitrangada Singh. When the conversation turned to the actor’s upcoming film “Matrubhoomi,” Farah humorously suggested that Khan should cast Mirza in a maternal role. However, the suggestion was met with swift disagreement from other guests, including chef Dilip, who argued that the actress does not yet fit such roles and could easily pass for the superstar’s younger sister.

The conversation also revisited the intense public attention surrounding the production of “Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.” Farah Khan recalled the logistical challenges of filming a song sequence that drew a massive crowd of approximately 200,000 people, forcing the crew to retreat to their hotel after completing only half a day’s work. Mirza noted that the remuneration from that very film allowed her to purchase her first home at the age of 19.
