Coke Studio Bangla is returning with a new song in the evening

Popular music show Coke Studio Bangla is returning with a new season after a break of six months. The first song of its fourth season will be released on Saturday (May 23) evening. It is known that the journey of this season is starting with Nazrul Sangeet’s ‘Rum Jhoom’.
The original tune of the song ‘Rum Jhum’ is taken from the Ottoman-Turkish folk song ‘Uskudara Gider Iken’, which Nazrul adapted into a Bengali monsoon poem. Although the song has been popular in Bangladesh for generations, the story of its long cultural journey was unknown to many. Coke Studio Bangla is presenting that music tradition anew.
Talking about his debut on the platform, Mahtim Shakib said, ‘Being a part of Rum Jhoom is a really special experience for me. The song carries a rich cultural legacy. Coke Studio Bangla has created a platform where timeless music is presented in a way that connects with the present generation while maintaining due respect and dedication to its original roots and traditions.’
Another vocalist Nusrat Jahan said, “The song Room Jhum is very personal and very meaningful to me.” The music of the song is produced by Shuvendu Bhaiya, who has been a mentor to me and my brother Saif since childhood. This collaboration is like a dream come true for me. Starting my musical journey through Coke Studio Bangla with a song like Rum Jhoom made the experience even more special.
It is reported that the song will be released on the official YouTube channel of Coke Studio Bangla on Saturday (May 23) at 7:30 PM. Its fourth season will have a total of eight songs based on different emotions and musical genres.
