Pakistani music sensation Atif Aslam is set to return to Dhaka for a long-awaited concert on July 24, marking the resolution of scheduling hurdles that previously forced the event’s cancellation. Organizers confirmed that the concert will proceed following the acquisition of all necessary government permissions and security clearances.
The upcoming performance serves as a follow-up to the artist’s previously scheduled concert, which was called off just two days before its December 13, 2023, date due to security concerns surrounding the national election schedule. At that time, organizers had assured ticket holders that the event was merely postponed, a sentiment echoed by Aslam himself, who took to social media to express his commitment to performing for his Bangladeshi fans.

In an effort to honor the loyalty of those who retained their tickets following the initial cancellation, the organizers have announced a seamless transition for previous buyers. Fans who purchased tickets for the 2024 event and did not request a refund will not be required to purchase new ones. Instead, they can apply through a designated verification process to have new tickets issued and delivered to them at no additional cost.
Director Kazi Rafsan emphasized that the event represents more than just a musical performance; it is the fulfillment of a promise made to the audience. He expressed gratitude to the fans for their patience and stated that the organizing team has worked closely with local authorities over the past several months to ensure the logistics are firmly in place.
