Police recover body of garage owner with fatal head injuries in Rangpur

Police in Rangpur recovered the bloodied body of a 55-year-old rickshaw garage owner on Thursday from his place of business in the Tajhat Ansari Mor area. Authorities discovered the remains of Abdur Rahman at approximately 12:30 p.m. after cutting the padlock of the garage’s metal shutter.
Initial examinations conducted by law enforcement revealed four distinct wounds on the back of the victim’s head. Investigators suspect that Rahman was murdered with a blunt, heavy object. The body has been transferred to the Rangpur Medical College morgue to undergo a post-mortem examination.
Local residents reported that Rahman lived alone in the garage, where he managed rickshaw operations. He had been married five times, and neighbors suggested that long-standing family disputes may have existed, noting that his children from his first two marriages lived elsewhere.
Mohammad Rubel, the son of the deceased, stated that the family intends to file a formal legal complaint, though he noted that they have no immediate leads regarding potential suspects.
A neighbor, Hiru Miah, told police he saw the garage shutter pulled down when he returned home around midnight on Wednesday and reported hearing no unusual noises throughout the night. The discovery was made Thursday morning after onlookers noticed the body through a gap in the shutter and alerted the authorities.
Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam of the Tajhat Metropolitan Police Station confirmed that an investigation into the motive and identity of the perpetrator is currently underway. Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the homicide.
