Volunteers rescue kite trapped for three days in Sreemangal tree

A kite was rescued on Sunday after spending three days entangled in fishing line high atop a koroi tree in the Shantibagh area of Srimangal, Moulvibazar. The bird remained trapped despite repeated efforts to break free, sparking a coordinated rescue mission by local residents and wildlife conservationists.
Local resident Rahat Ahmed reported that the kite had been suspended from a high branch, leaving it helpless as it dangled for days. Initial attempts to secure professional intervention from the fire service and local power authorities proved unsuccessful due to the height of the branch, leaving the bird in a precarious position until local community members contacted the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation.

Following the call for assistance, foundation director Sajal Deb and environmental activist Rajdeep Deb arrived at the scene with a team. A rescue worker, Ridon Gour, ascended the tree and carefully severed the branch holding the entangled line. Upon its release, the kite fluttered its wings for a moment before successfully taking flight, returning to the sky after its prolonged ordeal.
