Father Confesses to Premeditated Murder of Teenage Son in Noakhali Subarnachar
Police reveal meticulous planning and digital evasion tactics by the father who confessed to murdering his madrasa-student son in Noakhali
Police in Noakhali have detailed the premeditated murder of a young madrasa student by his own father during a comprehensive press briefing held at the Char Jabbar Police Station office. Law enforcement officials outlined the chilling sequence of events, citing the judicial confession and police interrogation of the accused father, Md Khalilur Rahman, who stands accused of ending the life of his son, Naim.
The briefing was led by Char Jabbar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Hasan, alongside Special Response Battalion (SRB) Warrant Officer Mohammad Harez Uddin. According to investigators, the victim was a Nazera department student at the Darul Ulum Madani Nagar Madrasa in Char Jabbar Union. The tragic incident came to light last Tuesday afternoon when local authorities recovered Naim's lifeless body from a paddy field adjacent to his maternal grandfather's home in Madhya Bagya village of Char Jubli Union.
Investigators revealed that the murder was meticulously planned by the father. On Monday night, while Naim was sleeping at his grandfather's residence, Khalilur woke the boy at approximately 2:30 am. Unaware of the impending danger, the child followed his father outside. In his confessional statement given under Section 164 before Senior Judicial Magistrate Hamidul Islam of the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday, Khalilur admitted to leading the boy to a secluded spot three to four hundred yards away from the house. He shoved Naim violently against a roadside tree, and as the child collapsed, he used a gamcha to strangle him from behind, ensuring his death before fleeing the scene.
In an elaborate attempt to evade law enforcement and digital tracking, the perpetrator devised a calculated ruse. Before traveling from neighboring Feni district to Noakhali, Khalilur deliberately turned off his mobile phone and left it behind to manipulate digital location tracking. He utilized multiple transports, passing through Sonapur and taking a rented motorcycle to reach Char Jabbar to execute the crime. Following the murder, he returned to Feni and turned his mobile phone back on to fabricate an alibi and conceal his presence in Noakhali.
Despite these calculated measures, investigators from the Noakhali district police's information technology division and SRB-11 successfully unraveled the plot and identified Khalilur as the primary suspect. Authorities noted that he had remained under suspicion and was repeatedly summoned to his son's funeral before being brought to the police station for questioning, where he ultimately confessed. Following the recovery of the victim's body, the victim's mother, Fatema Akhter Sumi, lodged a murder case on Friday naming Khalilur as the sole accused.
