Vandals attack home of former Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan in Magura

A group of unidentified individuals attacked the Magura residence of former national cricket team captain and ex-lawmaker Shakib Al Hasan on Wednesday night. The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the town’s Keshobmor area, involved assailants hurling bricks and stones at the property.

Magura Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed that several window panes were shattered during the attack. No injuries were reported, as the house remained largely unoccupied at the time. Authorities have since dispatched police units to the scene to secure the perimeter and investigate the motive behind the assault.

Initial police assessments suggest that the attackers attempted to set fire to the property’s main iron gate using an accelerant, though investigators found no evidence of explosive devices or petrol bombs at the site.
