Three-year-old boy dies after falling from residential building in Anwara

A three-year-old child died Friday night after falling from the railing of a residential building in Anwara, Chittagong. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the Westchal area of Barasat Union.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Abir, was the son of Mohammad Delwar, a resident of the Gahira Bar Awlia area of Raipur Union. The family had been residing in a rental apartment within the four-story building where the accident took place.
Local accounts suggest that the toddler was playing on the railing of the fourth-floor stairwell when he lost his balance and plummeted to the ground. Family members and neighbors rushed the child to the Anwara Upazila Health Complex, but he succumbed to his injuries before arrival.
Dr. Jahidul Hasan, the physician on duty at the health complex, confirmed that the child was brought to the hospital already deceased, noting severe contusions across his body consistent with a high-impact fall.
Jamir Uddin, a member of the Barasat Union Parishad representing Ward 2, corroborated the sequence of events, stating that the child fell while playing near the staircase railing and died instantly from the impact.
