Four Killed in Head-on Collision Between Truck and Pickup in Bogura

Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a cargo truck and a pickup van in the Kahalu upazila of Bogra on Saturday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the Kazipara area along the Bogra-Naogaon highway.

Authorities have identified one of the victims as 50-year-old Lutfor Rahman, a fish trader from Raghobpur village in Mymensingh. The identities of the remaining three victims, including the driver and his assistant, remain unconfirmed as police continue their investigation.

According to police and eyewitness accounts reported by Prothom Alo, the pickup van was traveling toward Bogra after completing a delivery in Naogaon. The collision occurred when the driver of the pickup attempted to overtake another vehicle, veering into the path of an oncoming truck traveling from Bogra toward Naogaon. The force of the impact left the front of the pickup completely mangled, resulting in the immediate death of all four occupants.

Officer-in-Charge of Kahalu Police Station, Shafiqul Islam, confirmed that officers have secured both the truck and the wreckage of the pickup van. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered and moved into police custody for further processing.
