Hemas Consumer Brands Bangladesh Brand Officer Tahsin Alam Radeed, Prothom Alo Assistant General Manager Ruhul Amin Roni, Assistant Manager Md. Shahadat Hossain Sohail and officials of Asiatic Media Limited, the partner agency of the event. Prothom Alo Senior Content Manager Khairul Babui moderated the program.

Congratulating the winners, Ayesha Kabir said, ‘Many people ask me, what is the purpose of celebrating Women’s Day? Isn’t that degrading us a bit? I had the same question. But when I see that the birth of a girl child still upsets many people, then it seems that we have to take various initiatives to overcome this. But we want the day to come soon, when we don’t have to celebrate women’s day separately.’ Ayesha Kabir said to the winners, ‘You are the real role models. We want everyone to know and be inspired by your stories.

Regarding the background of the campaign, Riyad Morshed said, ‘Thank you to everyone who participated in this campaign by writing their stories. Also thanks to Prothom Alo, for creating the opportunity. Kumarika’s aim is not just to sell products, as our customers are women, we want them to move forward. As women advance, so do we. The main objective of this event was to inspire women and advance them economically. We want to participate in such initiatives with Prothom Alo in the future as well.

Nazmun Nahar Munni, an electrical engineer who was proud of winning the award, said, ‘Once my life was one of hardship, struggle and suffering. But women can change their lives if they try. I myself am his example. I believe confidence and skill are very important for a woman to get ahead.’

Many women from all over the country wrote their stories of their life struggles and successes in the ‘Amar Ghobi, Amar Shakti’ campaign. Some are stories of professional success, others of overcoming adversity, and others of making their small ventures big. Three were selected as the best among them.
