Three dead, 17 injured in head-on collision between bus and truck in Tangail

Three people, including a woman and a child, were killed and 17 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a sand-laden truck in Tangail’s Madhupur upazila late Thursday night.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the Tangail-Mymensingh regional highway near the Roktipara filling station. According to local police, the Dhaka-bound Crown Deluxe bus collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction.
Emergency responders, including local residents, police, and fire service personnel, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Two victims were pronounced dead at the site of the collision. Eighteen survivors were transported to the Madhupur Upazila Health Complex, where medical staff confirmed the death of a third individual. Seven of the injured, reported to be in critical condition, were later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Madhupur Police Station officer-in-charge A.K.M. Fazlul Haque stated that authorities are working to identify the deceased. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing, and the bodies will be released to their families following the completion of legal procedures.
