Law enforcement agencies in Cumilla have detained 254 individuals during a coordinated, district-wide anti-gang crackdown targeting juvenile delinquency across 18 police stations. The synchronized overnight operation, which commenced at 8:00 PM yesterday and extended into the early hours, forms part of an intensified security drive to curb escalating youth violence and criminal syndicates operating within the region.
Among those taken into custody are four active members of the notorious Ratan Group, also known as the R Security Squad, a prominent juvenile syndicate operating in Cumilla city. Police officials confirmed that the detainees include 19-year-old Anisur Rahman, alias Anik, who serves as the second-in-command of the criminal gang.
Authorities stated that the sweeping raids were initiated following a meticulous intelligence-gathering operation aimed at dismantling organized adolescent crime networks. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing comprehensive interrogation at respective police stations as investigators prepare formal charges and evaluate their involvement in localized extortion, mugging, and turf violence.
