It has been alleged that a madrasa teacher was killed in an attack by cousins ​​over a land dispute in Chittagong’s Lohagara. The incident took place in the Jan Muhammad Para area of ​​Charamba Union of the upazila around 11:30 on Wednesday.

The name of the deceased madrasa teacher is Abul Kashem (55). He is a resident of the area and father of five children. He was the headmaster of Charamba Jamiul Uloom Madrasa, half a kilometer away from home.

Charamba Union Parishad (UP) panel chairman Syed Hossain confirmed the truth of the incident. He told Prothom Alo, ‘There was a dispute with Abul Kashem about the land of his cousins. This morning the two sides had a discussion about building a house in the disputed area. At one stage, there was an attack on Abul Kashem. Later he died.

Forkan Ahmad, the son of the deceased Abul Kashem, told Prothom Alo, “My father went to the madrasa this morning.” At that time 30 to 40 workers led by two cousins ​​of my father named Shamsu and Harun and some of their relatives started building houses at our place. On hearing the news, my father rushed to the spot from the madrasa. At that time, they had an argument with their father. At one point they hit my father on the head with a stick. He fell on the ground. When he was rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the emergency department doctor declared him dead.

Lohagara Upazila Health Complex emergency department doctor Ejazul Islam told Prothom Alo that the Madrasa teacher was brought to the hospital around 12:15. But he died before being brought to the hospital. He also said that the person was hit on the head with something heavy. It causes swelling in the head. But there was no bleeding.
