Jatiya Chhatrashakti Announces Jagannath University Branch Committee

The Jatiya Chhatra Shakti has announced a six-member partial committee for its Jagannath University (JnU) branch, marking a new chapter for the organization’s presence on campus. The leadership lineup was unveiled during a discussion session titled “July Mass Uprising: From Spark to Ongoing Revolution,” held at the university’s central auditorium to commemorate the second anniversary of the uprising.

Shahine Mia, a student from the 2020-21 academic session of the Department of History, has been appointed as president, while Ferdous Sheikh, also from the 2020-21 session of the Department of Management Studies, will serve as general secretary. The remaining leadership team includes Senior Vice President Kamrul Hasan, Senior Joint General Secretary Jihadul Islam, and Organizing Secretaries Shahinur Rahman and Rakibul Islam.

Jatiya Chhatra Shakti central president Zahid Ahsan formally announced the appointments and tasked the new leaders with finalizing a full committee within the next month. During the event, central leadership emphasized that the formation of this committee is intended to energize organizational activities and strengthen advocacy for student rights across the campus.

Outlining their agenda, President Shahine Mia and General Secretary Ferdous Sheikh committed to fostering a constructive political environment at Jagannath University. Their primary objectives include addressing the campus housing crisis and accelerating the development of the university’s second campus. The leadership stressed that they intend to work collectively toward creating a discrimination-free, student-friendly academic atmosphere.
