Winter sounds in nature. At such a time, the responsibility of surveying the hilly area of the southern border of the Chittagong Hill Tracts fell on the shoulders of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Thomas Herbert Lewin. Lewin continued with his men through the trackless primeval forest. Once during this expedition a tiger chased them for two days and two nights. Silent night in the mountains. It is dark all around. The tiger used to circle around their camp in the dark of such a night.
