HSC student sits for exam hours after giving birth in Nilphamari

An HSC examinee in Nilphamari’s Syedpur demonstrated remarkable academic determination on Thursday by sitting for a sociology examination just hours after giving birth. Annabiul Ummi, a student of Kaya Gola Hat School and College, completed the first paper of her sociology exam at the Syedpur Women’s Degree College center despite the physical toll of her morning delivery.
According to family members, Ummi, a resident of the Gola Hat area, began experiencing labor pains early Thursday morning. She was rushed to a local hospital where she safely delivered a healthy infant. Following the birth, and despite the physical exhaustion, Ummi expressed a firm commitment to attend her scheduled examination. Her family promptly notified the center authorities, who made the necessary arrangements to accommodate her participation.
Reflecting on her decision, Ummi stated that while she was in significant pain, she was unwilling to let a year of academic preparation go to waste. She requested prayers for herself and her newborn child as she balanced the immediate demands of motherhood with her educational obligations.
Shahid Shahab, the acting principal of Syedpur Women’s Degree College and the center secretary, confirmed that the administration facilitated the student’s request after being informed of her condition. Upon the conclusion of the examination, the center staff provided a congratulatory gift to the student in honor of her newborn.
