Govt determined to tackle measles: Minister of State for Health

State Minister of Health and Family Welfare Professor Dr. MA Muhith said that the government is determined to prevent the outbreak of measles in the country within the next few days.
He said these things on Sunday (April 12) at the opening ceremony of Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign-2026 at Ershad Ground in Karail Basti of the capital.
The Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare said that 30 high-risk upazilas of 18 districts of the country have been identified by analyzing the data in a scientific manner. The ministry has started a special vaccination program on an emergency basis from April 5 to control infection in these areas.

He said, step by step, the vaccination program has started in the big city corporations of the country. Besides, the measles vaccination program will be launched across the country from the 20th.
Professor Dr. MA Muhith said, there is no opportunity to waste time under the leadership of the Prime Minister. These activities are being implemented with great importance with speed. If this message can be conveyed to the people, it will be possible to implement the hopes and dreams that they have given to build a new democratic Bangladesh.
Stating that we have been working day and night since coming to the government, the state minister for health said that we are working for the welfare of the people. But if we can go to people again and again, people will know the results of our work and we will go to them. We have brought work for them. And this is a very important job protecting children.
He said, many people complain that politicians come to the people during elections and do not inquire after. This campaign is a great opportunity to change that perception.
