Crowded event, full of joy
As the event was crowded, so was the joy. ‘Sepnil Nivedit Kia Carnival 2026’ Kishore Alor keeps readers, volunteers and accompanying parents entertained throughout the day with a different kind of fun. On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of Kishore Alor (KIA), the most popular children’s newspaper of the country, this event was held from morning to afternoon at Aloki Convention Center on Gulshan-Tezgaon Link Road.
Sepnil dedicated Kia Carnival is supported by Mutual Trust Bank. Gold Partner Mighty Chips. Universal Medical College and Hospital provided medical support for the event. Alok provided venue support.

The program started with the performance of the national anthem at nine in the morning. After that, the song ‘Dhandhanya Pushpabhara, Amer Ae Bashundhara’ was performed by the artists of Surbihar Creative and Performance Center, a music education institution. Participating students and parents mingled with them.
The main ceremony of the event is held in Alokir Ballroom. And on the second floor, there were workshops on acting, photography and writers, mental health, mathematics and technology. Apart from this, drawing competition and cartoon and drawing workshops are held on the greenhouse stage. Apart from this, the stalls of various organizations including the publishing house Prothama are sitting in the light square. Each participant is accompanied by a parent (father or mother) to participate in the festival. More than two thousand students and equal number of parents participated in this event.

Educationist and founder of World Literature Center Professor Abdullah Abu Saeed came to celebrate the joy of carnival with the readers. Abdullah Abu Saeed urged children and teenagers to find their own way in life, grow up with joy and become humane people. He said, not only by reading books, but also through sports, swimming, exercise and various creative activities, a person gets fulfillment.
Prof. Abdullah Abu Saeed, citing his own life experience, said that the greatest strength of life is to listen to one’s inner voice and not follow the path imposed by others. Following your dreams and your happy place is more important than success or failure.
In another part of the speech, this teacher highlighted the importance of ‘joy of giving’. Abdullah Abu Sayeed, citing Rabindranath Tagore’s poem and various examples, said that people do not become great only by getting, but by sacrificing and giving, they achieve true greatness.
Abdullah Abu Saeed said, “The beauty of life and spiritual satisfaction are hidden in accepting the difficult.” He urged the children and teenagers to develop the mentality of doing something not only for themselves but also for others.
Writer and cartoonist Ahsan Habib urged children and teenagers to develop creative thinking and their own style. He says no one draws badly—everybody has a different style and idea in their drawings. And it is the teacher’s responsibility to bring out that identity.
Photographer Nasir Ali Mamun talks about photography in an easy way for children.
Then Ayman Sadiq, the founder of Ten Minute School, took the stage to inspire the children. He emphasized on making learning easier for children.
Joining the language and literature chat, Professor Tariq Manjur of Dhaka University emphasized on children’s understanding of subjects. BM Moinul Hossain, Director of Institute of Information Technology, Dhaka University conducted an awareness session for children and teenagers on Artificial Intelligence (AI). And the session on cyber security was conducted by Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB Cyber and Special Crime (South) Division). Tariqul Islam
Magician Rajeev Basak performed magic on the occasion. Jalputul keeps children intoxicated with puppet dance.
Popular stars of the entertainment world were also present in the event. They answered various questions of children about acting. Apart from this, Ahmed Hasan Sani performed songs for children and teenagers. Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu, drummer of the popular band Warphase, talks about his journey with music.
The carnival is held in two phases. Kishore Alo editor and Prothom Alo managing editor Anisul Haque said in the opening session in the morning session that the child’s own interest and talent should be given more importance than the parent’s dreams in determining the future. He said, ‘In the society, we often make such a mistake, that there is a Shakespeare hidden inside, we want to make him a banker by force; Who is supposed to be Rabindranath, I want to make him a doctor or an engineer. But every human being has a special kind of talent, which is developed through love, practice and freedom.’
Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director of Mutual Trust Bank (MTB), said that reading books expands the world of children’s imagination and thought, which is different from the experience of watching a play or a movie. Although the lifestyle of the present generation has changed a lot, he believes that besides technology, practical experience, reading and family connection are equally important for the mental and social development of children.
The current generation of children and teenagers are gradually becoming screen-dependent, which is a cause for concern, said Omar Hannan, General Manager (Marketing) of Ispahani Tea Limited. He said, in this reality, such creative and participatory activities throughout the day are important for children.
Actress Mehjabeen Chowdhury said that whatever work one wants to do, there should be regular effort and hard work behind it.
Actor Afran Nisho said, people can make their own place if they have concentration and confidence.
Actor Tausif Mahbub spoke in memory of his mother.
Kishore Alo faced the reader’s question after noon. Kishore Alo Editor Anisul Haque, Senior Associate Editor Ahmad Muddasser answered the questions. Then the music performance started. Musician Imran Mahmudul and his band and country’s popular band Avoid Rafa were present in this event.
