Chargesheet in Pallavi rape and infanticide case likely to be filed today: Investigating officer

The charge sheet may be filed on Sunday in the case of infanticide after rape in Pallabi, Mirpur of the capital. Investigation officer of the case and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Pallabi Police Station Ahiduzzaman Bhuiyan informed this information.
SI Ahiduzzaman Bhuiyan told BASS yesterday, “The process of DNA testing has been completed. The charge sheet may be filed on Sunday.
Ahiduzzaman Bhuiyan also said yesterday that he is preparing the charge sheet. His superiors are examining various reports including DNA.
The main accused in this case, Sohail Rana, was arrested on May 19. On May 20, he gave a confessional statement in the court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junaid recorded this statement. Later he ordered the accused to be sent to jail. The court sent Sohail Rana’s wife Sapna Akhter, who was arrested in the same incident, to jail.
