Police recover body of missing teenager from Khulna residential lake

Police recovered the body of a 13-year-old boy from a lake in a residential area of Khulna on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Soaib, was a student at the Boyra Fazlul Ulum Bahumukhi Hafizia Madrasa and the son of Hasib Miah, a resident of the Sonadanga area.
According to Helal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Harintana Police Station, the discovery was made in the KDA Mayur residential area after locals spotted the body floating in the lake.
The boy’s family reported that Soaib, who reportedly did not know how to swim, had left his home on Wednesday afternoon after asking his mother for 10 taka to go out. He failed to return home that evening, prompting concerns before the recovery of his body the following morning.
Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are currently underway as officials work to determine the exact cause of the incident.
