Bangladesh Ministry of Expatriate Welfare Establishes Dedicated Complaint Resolution Cell

The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment has established a specialized grievance redressal cell to expedite the resolution of complaints filed by Bangladeshi citizens living abroad. The initiative, formalized through an official administrative order, takes immediate effect to streamline the management of issues affecting the expatriate community.
The newly formed committee consists of five members tasked with overseeing the investigative and corrective processes. The cell will be led by the additional secretary or joint secretary of the ministry’s Monitoring and Enforcement division, who will serve as the convener.
The remaining committee members include the joint secretary of the Welfare wing, the deputy secretary of the Legal branch, the deputy secretary of the Service and Protocol branch, and the senior assistant secretary of the Enforcement-2 branch. The senior assistant secretary of the Enforcement-2 branch has been designated to serve as the member secretary, responsible for the committee’s operational coordination.
Under the provisions of the ministry’s directive, the cell is authorized to co-opt additional members if necessary to ensure that complex grievances are addressed efficiently.
