Kiara Advani: No Force for Marriage if Daughter Unwilling

Actress Kiara Advani recently articulated her vision for her 10-month-old daughter Surayah’s future, expressing a desire for complete autonomy in her life choices, particularly concerning relationships and marriage, during an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast.
Advani stressed her wish for her daughter to grow up free from social or emotional constraints. She aims to foster an environment where Surayah never feels compelled to date or marry a specific person, instead embracing a truly independent and fulfilling life path.
“I want her to see a full life,” Advani stated during the podcast. “I don’t want her to think she only has to date one person… There are no obligations. If she wants to marry, she will; and if she doesn’t want to, then she won’t.” She affirmed her full support as a mother, even if Surayah chooses not to marry in the future.
Reflecting on her own youth, Advani candidly admitted that she once believed she would marry every partner she dated. However, she acknowledged that life often unfolds differently than anticipated.
“Life actually doesn’t work that way,” she remarked, expressing gratitude that her path diverged. “And thank God life didn’t go that way, because I am extremely happy with whom God has chosen as my ultimate partner in life,” referring to her husband, Sidharth Malhotra. She concluded by noting that “the relationships you go through during your growing-up days teach you something. Ultimately, they build you into a mature person.”
