Emraan Hashmi to Headline Awarapan Sequel With Record Breaking Salary

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is set to reprise his iconic role as Shivam Pandit in the upcoming sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. Industry reports indicate that Hashmi has secured a compensation package of 100 to 120 million rupees for the project, making him the highest-paid cast member. This figure marks a significant increase from his earnings in the original film, for which he received between 12 and 15 million rupees.
The sequel, titled Awarapan 2, aims to advance the narrative of Shivam Pandit through a revised storyline and the introduction of new characters. While the original installment was directed by Mohit Suri and starred Shriya Saran, the production team for the sequel has undergone a change in leadership. Nitin Kakkar has taken over directorial duties, while Bilal Siddiqui is credited as the writer.
The film also features actress Disha Patani, who reportedly received a fee of approximately 50 million rupees. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has joined the cast to portray a complex antagonist role, earning an estimated 20 to 50 million rupees. While the production has confirmed the compensation for the leads, the salaries for supporting cast members, including Subinder Vicky and Vijayant Kohli, remain undisclosed.
The soundtrack for Awarapan 2 is expected to maintain the musical legacy of the franchise, incorporating popular tracks such as “Be Junoon,” “Yeh Awarapan,” and “Tera Mera Rishta.” The film is highly anticipated by fans of the original action-thriller, which remains a notable entry in Hashmi’s filmography.
