Bangladesh Ministry of Culture abruptly cancels Anupam Roy concert despite prior approvals

The concert featuring acclaimed Kolkata-based artist Anupam Roy, titled “One True Sound with Anupam Roy,” has been abruptly canceled following a directive from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Despite securing all necessary legal permits and completing final preparations, the organizers were forced to call off the event at the eleventh hour.
Event organizers Triple Time Communication confirmed the postponement in a formal statement released Wednesday night. According to the firm, all logistical arrangements had been finalized and the requisite authorizations from relevant authorities were in place before the Ministry intervened, citing “unavoidable circumstances” for the order to suspend the performance.
The sudden cancellation has sparked significant disappointment among thousands of ticket holders, music enthusiasts, and project sponsors. In their statement, Triple Time Communication expressed regret over the outcome while emphasizing that the organization intends to remain fully compliant with the directives issued by the state authorities.
To mitigate the impact of the sudden suspension, the organizers have confirmed that all ticket holders will receive a full refund through the official ticketing platform. Further instructions regarding the reimbursement process are expected to be communicated to patrons directly.
