Riyadh Air launches daily direct flights between Dhaka and Riyadh to meet rising travel demand

Riyadh Air, the newly established Saudi Arabian national carrier, has officially launched daily direct flights between Riyadh and Dhaka. The service, which began operations on August 7, marks the airline’s ninth international destination just eight weeks after the company commenced its broader flight operations on June 10.
The inaugural flight arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday morning, following its departure from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 9:20 p.m. local time on Friday. The route will be serviced daily by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring premium seating, modern entertainment systems, and traditional Saudi hospitality.
According to a press statement released on Sunday, the expansion is a response to the growing demand for travel between the two nations. Projections for the first quarter of 2026 position the Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia corridor as the ninth-busiest route for passenger traffic in the Middle East region.
The direct flight is expected to facilitate easier travel for business travelers, tourists, and pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah. Beyond passenger transit, the new route aims to bolster long-standing commercial, investment, and cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh, with officials anticipating increased cooperation in sectors such as energy, logistics, agriculture, technology, and infrastructure.
The daily service also provides connectivity to other key destinations, including Jeddah, through Riyadh Air’s expanding network. Passengers may book tickets via the airline’s official website, mobile application, or through authorized travel agencies. Additionally, members of the airline’s loyalty program, known as Sphere, are eligible for benefits including complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi and special offers upon registration as founding members.
