In the upcoming Comilla City Corporation election, the National Citizen Party (NCP) supported mayoral candidate. Comilla-4 Constituency Member of Parliament Hasnat Abdullah has called upon the people of the city to support Tariqul Islam. He made this call at a press conference in the auditorium of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Institute at Dharmasagarpara in the city on Monday afternoon.

Hasnat Abdullah, chief coordinator of NCP’s southern region, said in the press conference, “In consideration of the needs and needs of the people of Comilla, Md. NCP, Jatiya Yuba Shakti, Chhatra Shakti, Nari Shakti and other affiliated organizations of the party have unitedly supported Tariqul Islam. The activities and efforts of Tariqul Islam will continue to modernize this Comilla, solve the civic problems of Comilla, ensure the civic benefits. I believe, Tariqul Islam will play a necessary role in realizing the aspirations of the people of Comilla.

At this time, Hasnat called for full cooperation from the leaders and workers and city residents to win NCP’s candidate Tariqul Islam in the upcoming city elections. Apart from this, he directed the leaders and workers to go from house to house to build public support for Tariqul Islam.

In the press conference, NCP’s central joint chief coordinator and Comilla region supervisor Naveed Nowroz Shah, organizational secretary Md. Ataullah, Jatiya Chhatra Shakti Convenor Abu Bakr Majumdar, Jahangirnagar University Chhatra Shakti President Zia Uddin Ayan, NCP Comilla Metropolitan Chief Coordinator Sirajul Haque and other leaders and workers of various levels of the party were present.

On March 29, in a press conference, NCP announced party candidates for the post of mayor of five city corporations of the country, including Dhaka South and North City. Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan in Dhaka South, Ariful Islam Adeeb in Dhaka North, Mobaswer Ali in Rajshahi, Abdur Rahman Afzal in Sylhet, Tariqul Islam in Comilla were announced as mayor candidates.
