Apu Biswas returns to silver screen with thriller Shikari

Dhallywood actress Apu Biswas is set to return to the silver screen in the upcoming thriller “Shikar,” directed by Kamruzzaman Roman. The production, which was initially envisioned as a web film, has been upgraded to a full-length feature slated for a theatrical release.
The narrative, penned by Abdullah Zahir Babu, explores a gritty story set against the backdrop of a border region. Apu Biswas is expected to portray a glamorous lead role, marking a significant return to form for the popular actress. She will star alongside newcomer Murtaza Palash.
Production is scheduled to commence in the middle of this month, with the team traveling to Nepal for the majority of the filming. According to the production house, Reza Films, the shift from a web project to a theatrical motion picture was a strategic decision made after evaluating the film’s scope, budget, and evolving narrative requirements.
The creative team has already begun preparations, prioritizing the film’s atmospheric storytelling. The soundtrack features high-profile collaborations, including a track titled “Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon,” performed by Imran Mahmudul and Nazmun Munira Nancy. The song was written by Kabir Bakul and composed by Imran. A second, melancholic track composed by Akash Mahmud is also expected to be recorded soon.
Director Kamruzzaman Roman emphasized that the strength of the script was the primary catalyst for the project’s expansion. While initial production delays caused the film to miss its original March start date, the director maintains that the time was necessary to ensure the quality of the final product. The cast and crew are currently finalizing preparations to deliver what the production team describes as a compelling cinematic experience.
