Two people were killed in separate road accidents in two areas of the capital. These accidents took place in Shanirakhra of Jatrabari in the morning and Dholaipard area of Shyampur in the afternoon on Sunday. The deceased persons are motorcycle riders. Sajid Hasan (28) and van driver. Shafiqul Islam (38).
According to the sources of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital and relatives, Sajid Hasan was seriously injured after being hit by a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw in Rayerbagh area of Shanirakhra in the morning. Pedestrians rescued him and took him to a local hospital. Later, the doctor declared him dead at 11:42 PM while undergoing treatment at One Stop Emergency Center (OSEC).

Pedestrian Sohan said Sajid fell down with the motorcycle when a CNG autorickshaw pushed from the side. Sajid of Srirampur village of Ramganj upazila of Lakshmipur. Son of Solomon. He was working as Product Executive Officer at Al-Madinah Pharmaceutical Limited.
On the other hand, a van overturned after being hit by a speeding auto mixer in front of Jalalabad Hamida CNG pump, Dholaipard, Shyampur. The driver, Shafiqul Islam, was crushed under the van and seriously injured. Later, when he was rescued and taken to Dham, the doctor declared him dead around 3:30.

Mizan Sheikh, the rescuer, said that Shafiqul was driving the van with the goods for making cartoons. The accident occurred when the automixer was pushed.
Shafiqul’s elder brother Shariful Islam said that his brother was a battery operated rickshaw driver by profession. Their house is in Rajnagar village of Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha. Shafiqul was currently living in a rented house in Basabo area of Sabujbagh.
Inspector of DMK police outpost. Farooq said that both the bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue and the concerned police station has been informed.
