All Sub-Registrar Offices Installation of CCTV cameras Direction why not: High Court
The High Court has ruled asking why the order should not be given to install high definition (HD) CCTV cameras in all sub-registrar offices, including monitors (public display monitors) so that the public can see the proceedings. A bench consisting of Justice Bhishmadev Chakraborty and Justice Abdur Rahman gave this ruling on the preliminary hearing of a writ today.
The ruling also asked why the inaction of the respondents to take immediate and effective steps to install high definition (HD) CCTV cameras with public display monitors in all sub-registrar’s offices should not be declared illegal. The Law Secretary and Inspector General of Registration (IGR) have been asked to respond to the rule.
Advocate of the Supreme Court asked for instructions to install HD CCTV cameras with public display monitors in all sub-registrar offices. Al Mamun Sarwar made the writ yesterday on Sunday. He himself heard the writ on behalf of the court. Deputy Attorney General Syed Ijaz Kabir was for the state.
Later, the lawyer said. Al Mamun Sarwar told Prothom Alo that he went to the sub-registrar’s office in his district for family work and saw illegal claims and the nuisance of brokers. Even officers do not come to office on time. It has to suffer. According to Article 21 of the Constitution, it is the duty of every person engaged in the work of the Republic to endeavor to serve the people. Later, Savar went to the Sub-Registrar’s office for the client’s needs. It can be seen that there are CCTV cameras at important places and monitors are installed in public places. The High Court gave the ruling when the writ was filed asking for directions to ensure digital monitoring to prevent irregularities-corruption and accountability.
