The criminals of Mohammadpur are getting out on bail and are indulging in the same crime

After August 5, 2024, about 1500 criminals have been caught by RAB alone from Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area. RAB-2 captain Khalidul Haque Howladar said that many of them were later released on bail in a “battle of the law” and are involved in crime again.
He said these things in response to a question at a press conference organized at Caravanbazar RAB Media Center in Dhaka on Tuesday. According to him, the arrested persons are members of drugs, robbers, Kishore gangs of Mohammadpur region. In legal battle they come back and commit crimes again. Even the same criminal has been arrested twice, thrice; But after being released, they are again involved in crime.
RAB official Khalidul Haque said that whenever a criminal commits a crime, he will never be exempted. Criminals are increasing their sentences by committing repeated crimes. Of course the criminals are doing their own harm.
Khalidul Haque was recently asked about the police’s vigilance in the fear of attacks on important installations of the country. He said, at the moment, he does not see any danger. RAB takes any risk and threat seriously. Patrolling and intelligence teams have been deployed to provide security to important establishments, government offices and buildings or establishments related to public interest in the area covered by RAB-2. Besides, other law enforcement forces are also deployed.
It was informed in the press conference that RAB-2 raided various areas of Dhaka on Monday and arrested 6 persons including three foreign pistols, one domestic single-barreled gun, 37 bullets, three magazines, two chapatis and 1 lakh 2 thousand pieces of Yaba.
RAB-2 captain Khalidul Islam said that among the recovered firearms, a foreign pistol was looted from Mirpur Model Police Station on August 5, 2024. A person named Forkan Ali (65) was arrested from Shah Ali area with the pistol, four bullets and a magazine. He is a professional arms dealer. A case of preparation for robbery in Patuakhali, murder case in Rampura police station and robbery case in Rajapur police station in Jhalkathi are pending against him.
In the press conference, it was informed that a person named Abdur Rahman alias Rahmat Ullah was arrested from Turag housing area of Mohammadpur on Monday along with seven thousand pieces of yaba and a foreign revolver. Based on the information given by Rahmat Ullah, 1000 pieces of yaba were recovered from Bachila City housing area. In another operation, a person named Nur Hossain was arrested from Chanmia housing area with 94 thousand pieces of yaba. A man named Monirul Islam alias Radar Monir was arrested with a foreign pistol, two magazines and 33 bullets from Dhaka’s Fakirapool. Satmasjid housing area of Mohammadpur during the robbery. Amin and Noornavi were arrested along with two chapatis.
