Young Man Fatally Stabbed in Premeditated Attack in Jessore

JESSORE, Bangladesh — A 28-year-old gold ornament artisan was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in the Lichutola area of Barandipara in Jessore city on Thursday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Al Amin, a resident of the Boubazar area, was attacked by a group of individuals at approximately 4:00 p.m. Local residents discovered his body and alerted law enforcement, who subsequently recovered the remains and transported them to the Jessore General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

According to police investigators, the attackers first incapacitated the victim by throwing chili powder into his eyes before inflicting fatal wounds on his head and various parts of his body with sharp weapons.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jessore Kotwali Model Police Station, Masum Khan, stated that the nature of the attack suggests a premeditated homicide. While the exact motive remains under investigation, police are exploring the possibility that the murder stemmed from long-standing personal enmities involving the victim’s associates.

Authorities noted that Al Amin had a history of criminal activity. Police records indicate he was a suspect in at least four criminal cases, including charges related to assault, extortion, and narcotics trafficking.

The police are currently in the process of filing a formal case regarding the incident, and an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators is underway.
