Two children died in Banshkhali, Chittagong, on Friday after being swept away by intense flash flooding triggered by heavy rainfall. The separate incidents occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the Baharchhara Union, marking a tragic turn in the ongoing deluge that has left several areas of the sub-district submerged for days.

The victims have been identified as seven-year-old Mohammad Ashik, son of expatriate Kamal Uddin from South Ilsha village, and three-year-old Mohammad Miraj from the Ratnapur area of the same union. According to local reports, the children were playing in their respective courtyards when powerful currents, fed by water rushing down from the hills, overcame them. Family members and neighbors recovered the bodies shortly after the incidents.
