A 22-year-old man has died following a brutal assault by his uncle in Meherpur’s Gangni upazila, a violent escalation triggered by a dispute over a stolen bicycle. The victim, Nahid Hossain, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.

The fatal altercation began on Sunday after the suspect, 35-year-old Lalon Hossain, accused his nephew of stealing his bicycle. The accusation sparked an immediate confrontation between the two residents of Tetulbaria village, which intensified into a heated argument the following day. According to local witnesses, the dispute turned lethal on Monday when Lalon attacked Nahid with a *hashua*, a traditional curved blade, inflicting multiple severe wounds.
