Prime Minister Tariq Rahman has asked the members of the armed forces to uphold the country’s sovereignty and the dignity of the constitution as well as hold the country above party lines.

Prime Minister Tariq Rahman’s durbar was held today Sunday at the military compound auditorium of Dhaka Cantonment. He gave this instruction in this Durbar. This information was informed in a press release of the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the press release, Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) AKM Shamchul Islam, Chiefs of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force and Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Department welcomed the Prime Minister on arrival at the venue.

In the Durbar, the Prime Minister appreciated the professionalism, discipline, overall security of the country and their important contribution in the international arena. He praised the armed forces especially for controlling the overall law and order situation in the country from the period after August 2024 and conducting the Thirteenth National Assembly elections in a fair and efficient manner.

The Prime Minister assured the all-out cooperation of his government for the future capability enhancement, modernization and playing a more effective role in national development of the armed forces.

Finally, the Prime Minister instructed all the members of the armed forces to hold the country above party lines, to uphold the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the constitution, to keep the trust of the people intact and above all to pledge to love the country through actions, honesty, oaths and sacrifices.

Members of various levels including military and civilian senior officers stationed in Dhaka were present in the Durbar. Apart from this, the members located in other parts of the country participated in the Durbar through video teleconference.
