The closing and prize distribution ceremony of Bangladesh Army Firing Competition 2026 was held today Thursday at Comilla Cantonment.

Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.

The army chief in his speech mentioned that the skill of firing is very important for the professional excellence of an army member. He said it is an integral part of the basic training of soldiers. He expressed the opinion that every year this firing competition of the army plays an important role in improving the desired standards of the soldiers.

17 infantry division champion and para commando brigade runner up in Bangladesh army firing competition. Sainik Payal Mondal, 17 Infantry Division Best Firer in the competition; Soldier Tanveer Hossain, 10th Infantry Division won the second best firer and Soldier Jaba Akhter, 24th Infantry Division won the distinction of being the best female firer.

A total of 17 teams including all formations of Bangladesh Army, goods transfer area, 5 independent brigades, para commando brigade participated in this firing competition conducted under the overall management of Headquarters 33 Infantry Division on May 16.

Bangladesh Army’s Master General of the Ordnance (MGO) Commandant, Bangladesh Ordnance Factory General Officer Commanding, 33 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Comilla Area General Officer Commanding, 17 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Sylhet Area Headquarters and senior officers of formations, members of various levels and representatives of various media were present on the occasion.
