The body of the autorickshaw driver was recovered from the canal in Satkaniya

The body of an autorickshaw driver named Abul Kalam (50) was recovered from a canal in Satkania Upazila of Chittagong. The body was recovered from Gorla Canal in Morfla area of Nalua Union of Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Abul Kalam is the son of deceased Hamid Baksu of Payadar Para area of Rasulabad village of Kaliaish Union of Upazila. He is the father of three children. He was missing since last Monday afternoon.
According to family sources, on Monday afternoon, Abul Kalam went to deliver fuel oil to a brick kiln in Morfla area with his battery-powered auto-rickshaw. Since then he was not found. Later, his body was recovered from the canal during a search. His autorickshaw is also available in front of a shop nearby.
Officer-in-charge of Satkania police station Manjurul Haque told Prothom Alo that according to the current report, no sign of injury was found on the person’s body. The body was recovered and sent to Chittagong Medical College morgue for autopsy. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report.
