A farmer has been hacked to death on his way to visit Dhankhet in Trishal, Mymensingh. The incident took place in Raimani Bamanakhali Madhyapara area of ​​Mathbari Union of the upazila around 8 pm yesterday.

The deceased Motaleb Hossain (55) died in that area. Son of Saifullah. Besides farming, he was also a cattle wholesaler.

According to the police, yesterday night at 8:24 PM, the National Emergency Service number 999 was called, Motaleb Hossain was hacked to death by miscreants and left in a paddy field in Raimani Bamanakhali Madhyapara area of ​​Mathbari Union of Trishal Upazila. Immediately several police teams went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, the police prepared a postmortem report of the body and sent it to the Mymensingh Medical College morgue for post-mortem.

Ali Hossain, the son of the deceased, said, “My father left the house before Maghrib prayer and went to see the paddy fields. Then someone hacked my father to death. A mobile phone was lying next to the dead body and 38 thousand 645 taka was inside a cloth bag tied around the waist. The miscreants did not touch them. I cannot say why my father was killed. He demanded arrest of all those involved in the murder of my father.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) of Mymensingh, said that the victim had serious injuries on his neck, head and fingers. It is believed that the miscreants killed him with sharp weapons and left the body in the paddy fields. However, the deceased person did not take the money. Trishal police station-police and DB are working to identify the persons involved along with unraveling the mystery of the murder.
