On the way back home, a garment worker died after twisting her veil on the wheel of an autorickshaw

A garment worker named Kamini Khatun (24) was seriously injured after twisting her veil on the wheel of a battery-operated auto-rickshaw in Matuail of Demra in the capital on Monday afternoon. When he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around seven in the evening, the doctor declared him dead.
According to police and local sources, Kamini used to work in a garment factory in Matuail area. He was returning to Demra’s house by autorickshaw after work in the afternoon. On the way, the wheel of the auto-rickshaw twisted her veil and hung her around the neck. He fell from the auto-rickshaw and got seriously injured. After that he was rescued and first taken to a local hospital. When the condition worsened, he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 7 pm, where the doctor declared him dead.
Sharmin Begum, a colleague of the deceased Kamini, said that after the holiday, they were returning home together in an auto-rickshaw. While passing through Matuail Road, Kamini’s veil suddenly got twisted in the wheel.
The deceased Kamini Khatun is the daughter of Kamrul Islam of College Mor area of Jhalkathi Sadar Upazila. He lived with his family in Demra area.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. Farooq confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
