Isti Medical Managing Director Granted Bail in Sexual Assault Case

Mohammad Faisal, the managing director of Isti Medical Bangladesh, was granted bail on Sunday in a case involving the sexual assault of a teenage girl. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Zakir Hossain ordered his release until July 14, following a bond of 500,000 taka and the imposition of three strict judicial conditions.
Sub-inspector Tahmina Akter of the court’s prosecution division confirmed the development, noting that the order came just five days after Faisal was initially remanded into custody. Under the terms of his release, Faisal is required to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation, refrain from abusing his bail privileges, and seek formal court permission before attempting to travel abroad.

The legal proceedings have moved through multiple stages since the case originated. While Faisal previously secured bail through the High Court, that order eventually expired. Upon his surrender to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday, his initial petition for bail was denied, leading to his temporary incarceration.
According to court documents, the allegations center on incidents dating back to June 2024. The complaint states that Faisal, a relative of the victim, used various pretexts to lure the girl out of her home. The indictment alleges that he attempted to force her to smoke before bringing her to an office in Gulshan. During a subsequent car ride, he reportedly assaulted the teenager under the guise of teaching her to drive.

The victim initially kept the incident confidential but suffered severe psychological trauma. The matter came to light on April 17, when the teenager encountered the accused at a public event and suffered an emotional outburst. Her family subsequently learned of the details, leading her father to file a formal case at the Gulshan police station on April 23.
