Khulna Chhatra Dal’s new committee convener’s video goes viral, released within 12 hours

Within a few hours of the announcement of the new convening committee of Khulna Zilla Chhatra Dal, a video of the convenor of the committee Feroz Ahmed went viral on social media. In the video, he is seen talking about drugs, threatening to kill someone with a knife and using foul language.
He was relieved of the post of convener within 12 hours of the announcement of the committee in the face of widespread criticism over the video.

The convening committee of Khulna District Chhatra Dal of 30 members was announced on the verified Facebook page of Central Chhatra Dal on Tuesday midnight. In this, Feroz Ahmed was appointed as the convener, Abu Zafar as the senior joint convener and Khan Ismail Hossain as the member secretary.
However, since the announcement of the committee, there has been dissatisfaction among the deposed leaders and workers. Feroze Ahmed’s video spread amid various reactions on social media. In the viral video, he is seen talking about drugs while eating a mango, threatening to kill someone with a knife and abusing.

Regarding the video, Firoz Ahmed told Prothom Alo, ‘I walk with the people of the soil. I write, recite. We teach dance and song to street children and feed them. Sometimes I mix with people and sell fish, sometimes I sell drink or clothes. I have many such videos on Facebook. This is also such a funny video. A younger brother did this as a joke. Now it is being used for political purposes. I agree to do dope test. My body has never had a single cigarette smoke in my life.
Meanwhile, the joint convener of the new committee, Mostak Ahmed, filed a General Diary (GD) with the Sonadanga police station for allegedly defaming the reputation of the party along with Feroz Ahmed on social media.
Abu Zafar, senior joint convener of the new committee, came to a press conference at Khulna Press Club to announce his rejection of the Khulna District Chhatra Dal committee and his voluntary resignation on Wednesday afternoon. His followers were with him.
Earlier, Abu Jafar wrote on his Facebook page, “18 years of political life ended.” From this moment I freed myself from all positions of the Nationalist Chhatra Dal.
Before the press conference at the press club, supporters of Abu Jafar told reporters that the new convener has five criminal cases against him instead of political cases in the past. Besides, the video of threatening to kill by consuming drugs has gone viral.
They also alleged that Khan Ismail Hossain, member secretary of the newly formed committee, was expelled in 2020 on charges of Jamaat-affiliation. They also claim that he is currently a committee member of Jalma Union BNP. However, on the eve of the start of the press conference, the decision was made to release Feroz Ahmed from the central student body and make Abu Zafar the acting convener.
According to the notification published on the verified Facebook page of Chhatra Dal this afternoon, Feroz Ahmed has been dismissed from the organizational post due to organizational indiscipline. At the same time, Senior Joint Convener Abu Zafar was given the duty of Acting Convener.
Later, Abu Jafar thanked everyone involved without holding a press conference and left. His supporters distributed sweets on this occasion.
Earlier on October 13, 2016, Abdul Mannan was announced as the president and Golam Mostafa as the general secretary of the Khulna District Chhatra Dal committee. Later on June 10, 2018, the committee of 31 members was expanded to 251 members. On 17 August 2024, the Central Parliamentary Committee declared the dissolution due to the expiry of the term.
